Can I be sure that Eyr psychologists ensure confidentiality?

Psychologists are healthcare professionals with a duty of confidentiality, and they respect the individual's right to confidentiality by keeping everything they learn about clients and others, in their capacity as healthcare professionals, private. The psychologists at Eyr can only share information they receive from you with others if you consent to it, or where it is legally required or allowed, such as when it is absolutely necessary to safeguard life and health. Situations where confidentiality may be waived are extremely rare, and the psychologist should, as a general rule, discuss any exchange of information with the client first.

If you're interested, the psychologists at Eyr also have the option to coordinate with healthcare professionals outside of Eyr, such as your doctor’s office. However, we will only do this if you ask for it. Otherwise, what you choose to share with your psychologist at Eyr remains separate from your other healthcare records.
